Airplants Gifts from loving hubby

Adeline went to the Pick A Plant plot in cck 1 month back . So I asked her to help me purchase these. 

Then the week after during 18 Aug I went Fareast florist and got these as presents.

Thanks to hubby for buying all these loving plants for me :)

Went to Alexandra ikea and on the way there saw the florist which I used to get my orchid from. Stop to see what's in store and then I spotted airplants . Got 5 for $20

Only managed to identify 1 the rest 4 are unknown to me. :( only can tell when they bloom. 

Today pick a plant store also have sale at botanic garden. Asked hubby to drive me there to take a look ended up more plants ... 5 more. But damage higher $68.

Tillandsia Bugs...

While surfing the garden forum came across this "Air Plant", hence decided to get it as a present for a fren who is scared of the soil pest when growing plants. Thought this might be a better gift for her - no soil, no pot. :P Of coz' can deco nice nice display item at home too. Passed her the gifts already and hope she likes it.

This is what I got:

2. Melanocrater tricolor,
3. Ionantha fuego,


4. Fuschii var gracilis,
5. Velutina


I used to have it back in 2002 which my ex-colleague got for us as his exit gifts. None of us managed to keep it alive, guess during then information was limited and hence we do not really knows how to takecare of it. Hopefully this time round with more information and support, my Tillies will survive.

Woon Leng Nursery

Decided to go to nursery to get myself some mini cattleya to beautify my garden.
Went to Woon Leng as this is the only place I know. I personally like the auntie from Song Nursery, but I am clueless where have it shifted to out of Woon Leng Nursery. At Woon Leng they are putting up a COOL place to grow the pha series..so beautiful the plants.


This following is the 2 pot of plants that I got from Woon Leng, didn't expect so expensive lor. I think last time when I got from my mother-in-law from Song it is like only $10. Now it is $15! Anyway, I like the big flowers and the striking colour of the other.


This morning spent sometime tidying up the plants as someone mentioned they plants grew well in the spag. moss. So I am tryin out as well growing my plants in spag. moss and the charcoal.

I think it is injured as it does not really fly away when I am taking photo of it.
When I return home, it is nowhere to be seen.

African Violet Leaf Problems

Last friday, I am surprised to find my AV leaves turning brown. So did a quick check and realised that the soil is far too damp. Guess I have watered too much. Hence I did report for 2 plants. Also repotted some plantlets as well.

Today I see a difference in growth in term of AV plantlets growing in just pure pertile as compare to the AV potting mix. AV potting mix one seems to grow faster.
Maybe I would add some AV potting mix to the pertile later. :P

Another new thing in my garden: Episcia (Pink) colour one.
Now in propagation and have managed to root it. So waiting for it to grow and hopefully can have it as a basket plant or runners.

Repotted Lotus Plant

This is what I do when I did the repotting of my Lotus Plant. I place some soil at the bottom, transfer my lotus plant and added more top soil to the side. Now very muddy colour. Left about 3 inches left from the top after i filled up with water. My hubby is worry that I might kill the plant by using soil. Keeping my finger crossed.

Raining Jambu Air

Went home last night to saw lotsa of fruits dropping off the plant.

Counted them and there are 30! My goodness...wondering what's wrong with my plant. Sob sob

Anyway, I still picked those Bigger ones out to eat. Do not waste although they are not in "full term" yet, glad to know that they are sweet.
